New 'Beef' Between El Pollo Loco & KFC Heats Up
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) ―
Where's the beef? One California restaurant chain says it's in their competitors chicken! CBS13 went to find out about the brewing battle between KFC and El Pollo Loco.
It's a big game of chicken. It is a battle that is brewing back-and-forth between Kentucky Fried Chicken and El Pollo Loco.
El Pollo Loco is on the offense now that KFC's taken the persona of KGC, entering the grilled chicken game. But you won't find El Pollo Loco calling their rival anything grilled.
Through social networking sites and phone calls, El Pollo Loco fans have now let the company, with just more than 400 restaurants, know something especially interesting about the one with just more than 11, 000.
On KFC's website, a disclosure of ingredients for the marinade for their new grilled chicken, which includes beef powder and rendered beef fat.
El Pollo Loco is already exposing the finding with a new website, and is starting a new ad campaign next week harping on the juicy finding.
