Local Little League Snack Shop Fire May Be Arson

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) ― It's a place where kids go to have fun and play baseball. But now the future of Parkway Little League hangs in limbo, after someone torched their snack shop.

The snack shop is one of the league's biggest money makers. Without it they can't afford to play baseball.

Allison Kile is a Parkway Little League player. She's asking the same question investigators are trying to answer," Why did someone make the fire?"

"I feel sad," she says.

That's because on Easter Sunday, someone set fire to the porta-potties on the field. The flames spread to the snack shop and burned it down.

"We had all our equipment we use to prepare the fields, we had uniforms back there, our bases that we use for our kids, to touch down on. We do have lawn mower equipment in there," Says Allison's mother and equipment manager, Michelle Kile.

Now there's nothing left.

"This is our main source of equipment once the season starts," said Kile.

And the season starts in just 13 days. This is the third time they've been targeted by someone up to no good.

"We're an easy target, we don't have a lot of lighting and stuff out here to help us," said Kile.
