Mother Of Baby Left At Funeral Home Found
STOCKTON (CBS13) ―
The mother of a newborn baby left at a Stockton funeral home today has been found.
Stockton Police say the woman walked up to an employee outside the DeYoung Funeral Chapel at around 3 p.m., handed them the baby and said something that sounded like "I can't take it anymore" and ran off.
The baby still had its umbilical cord attached when it was taken to the hospital. It appears to have been carried to full-term and is reportedly doing fine.
Police tracked down the 21-year-old mother a few blocks away from the business. They say she may have given birth in the apartment. She has been taken to the hospital for treatment.
