Big Rig Vs. School Bus In Antelope, No Kids On Bus
ANTELOPE (CBS13) ―
A big rig and school bus collided this morning, injuring the drivers of both vehicles and causing a hazmat situation.
The crash happened on Elkhorn Blvd. at Sprig Dr. and blocked all westbound lanes of Elkhorn Blvd. -- an area just north of Interstate 80 in Antelope.
The bus was from Twin Rivers Unified School District bus and was only carrying two people at the time: the driver and an attendant. The bus was just about to begin picking up students. Both people were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the big rig also reportedly suffered a back injury.
The big rig was hauling gasoline, some of which spilled onto the road. A hazardous materials crew was called to the scene.
