Authorities have issued an Amber Alert in California, Arizona and Nevada for a mother suspected of abducting her four children after she failed to show up for a custody meeting with social service officials.
The children may be traveling with mother Claire Tourand, 34, in a white 1998 Mercury Sable with Nevada tags 369-SDH.
The children have been identified as nine-year-old Ivan Mata-Martinez, eight-year-old Jakelyne Mata-Martinez, seven-year-old Megan Mata-Martinez and four-year-old Tyson Mata Martinez.
Brooke Keast, spokeswoman for Washoe County, Nevada, Sheriff's Department, says an arrest warrant was issued Saturday for 34-year-old Claire Tourand. A family court judge has also issued an order for the return of the children, stating there is immediate risk of harm to them.
Keast says Tourand may be heading to Mexico.
