Airport Hotel Demolished Today For New Terminal
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) ―
The old Host Hotel at Sacramento International Airport is tumbling down. Construction crews began ripping down the old hotel to make way for a new airport terminal.
Just after 8:00 this morning, two large excavators extended their large claw like vices and pulled down part of the facade of the old building.
The Sacramento County Airport System bought out the remainder of the hotel's lease in order to make room for construction on the new terminal expansion project coined
"The Big Build."
The new terminal, which will include a new multi-story hotel, is scheduled to open early 2012.
