Special Needs Child Saves His Mother's Life

TRACY (CBS13) ― A seven-year-old boy is being credited for saving his mom's life. CBS13 went to Tracy to find out what the boy did right in the knick of time.

Seven-year-old Bobby Campers is a special needs child. He gets stickers when he behaves on the bus, but today he's getting a bit more than stickers because he saved his mother's life.

"My son is a hero, he's my hero," says Bobby's mother, Mary.

Bobby and his five-year-old brother, Alexander, found their mother unconscious in the living room.

Both of the children started to yell. When that didn't work, Bobby says he picked up the phone and called 911. As Bobby made the call, Mary was dozing in and out of consciousness.

"The last thing I remember is him telling the lady on the phone you need to send help right away," Mary told CBS13.

The boy's mother says the medics told her if Bobby did not call it could have been very serious.

"Because of my son's quick thinking I owe everything to my son," she says.

Bobby has a cyst on his brain and has seizures from time to time, along with several other disabilities.

Although, many had doubt he could even remember to call 911, let alone dial it, he has proven them wrong.
