A manhunt that had forced four schools into lockdown, shutdown streets and closed down an entire strip mall along Folsom Boulevard in Sacramento has turned up empty.
Police had surrouned the Savemart on the 5600 block of Folsom Boulevard this morning after a man broke through the attic and robbed an employee at gunpoint at around 5:30am.
Police believed the man may still have been on the roof of the store or in the area.
Roads in the area were closed as police searched for the man. SWAT members could be seen scouring the roof of the stripmall armed with rifles. And police recommended that schools in the area close temporarily.
Kit Carson Middle School, Phoebe Hearst Middle School, St. Francis High School and St. Mary's Middle School had been on lockdown. St. Mary's Middle school students were eventually dismissed for the day.
After several hours of searching, the police ended the hunt.
