SACRAMENTO (CBS13) ―
Sacramento City firefighters have accepted the deal in accordance with the city, which will save 68 jobs and avoid layoffs just in time for the Fourth of July holiday weekend.
With the deal comes a pay freeze in the firefighters pay by five percent for 30 months in exchange for protection from layoffs.
If the deal was not approved by the City Council Friday, 50 firefighters as well 18 high-ranking fire officials would lose their jobs on July 3rd.
