Wind-Driven Four-Alarm Fire Guts Two Homes

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) ― Gusting winds sent sparks flying through a Sacramento neighborhood overnight as a four-alarm fire gutted two homes and forced homeowners to wet down their roofs to prevent the flames from spreading further.

Just after midnight, a fire broke out at one home along the 900 block of Rancho Roble Way.  Winds sent sparks flying and the flames quickly jumped to a neighboring home.

Firefighters arrived on the scene and immediately began knocking on doors telling neighboring residents to water down the roofs of their homes to prevent red-hot embers from sparking additional fires.

Two families have been displaced by the fire, but no one was seriously hurt.

The Red Cross was called-in to help the family with food and shelter.
