California's Safely Surrendered Baby Law___________________
It was a strange morning for one Sacramento woman when the young lady approached her carrying a baby and asked her to hold it while she prepared a bottle of milk. She agreed, and as soon as she was given the baby, the young lady ran off, say Sacramento Police.
The woman called police who took the baby into protective custody and took it to the UC Davis Medical Center where hospital staff report that it's doing fine.
The suspect is described as a White female, about 16-years-old, 5'3", with a small build and strawberry blonde hair. She was wearing a red hooded jacket and grey sweatpants. The woman told police the suspect had a "dirty" appearance.
Police encourage anyone with information to contact Crime Alert at (800)-AA-CRIME.
