Couple Accused Of Stealing Insurance Money

ROSEVILLE (CBS13) ― A Roseville couple is accused of bank fraud for allegedly stealing the life insurance policy of a fallen U.S. Marine.

The mother of Lance Corporal Kyle Guzman, who died in November of last year during a training exercise, told the FBI her half sister and that half sister's boyfriend stole that insurance money.

Joyce Guzman from Shasta County says Carol Damico and Ray Brogan from Roseville, talked her into giving them access to the money so they could "invest it for her."

When the couple started driving new cars and carrying new merchandise, Guzman grew suspicious and contacted the FBI.

Damico and Brogan were arrested for bank fraud and face up to 20 years in prison of convicted.
