Humblodt Man Charged In Boy's 1976 Murder
YREKA (AP) ―
A 51-year-old Humboldt County man has been charged with murder in the death of a 6-year-old Happy Camp boy 32 years ago.
Siskiyou County prosecutors filed the charges on Thursday. They come two weeks after Gregory Nelson and 69-year-old Suzanne Little were arrested for kidnapping the boy.
Both have pleaded not guilty to snatching Willie Cook Jr. from his father's truck outside a store in Happy Camp in August 1976.
Willie's body was found six months later stuffed into a barrel near the Klamath River.
The pair were arrested after the sheriff's office got new information from the Yreka Police Department. It's not been disclosed what that new evidence was.
