NorCal Home Sales Rise 12% In July
A tracking firm says the median home price in Northern California rose more than 12 percent last month from June.
San Diego-based MDA DataQuick said Friday the increase was due to the sale of higher priced homes and fewer sales of foreclosures.
The firm says the median for the nine-county area rose to $395,000 last month from $352,000 in June, marking the fourth consecutive month that prices increased.
A total of 8,771 homes were sold in July, up more than 15 percent from July 2008.
Last month's sales were the highest in four years for July.
