Woman May Have Scattered Ashes At Disneyland
ANAHEIM (AP) ―
It's billed as the "Happiest Place On Earth", and apparently some people think Disneyland's also the place to find eternal happiness.
Last Friday, workers spotted a woman dumping a white powder into the water of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" ride.
The park shutdown the ride to check it out, but quickly re-opened it after determining there was no danger.
It was quickly rumored on several on-line blogs that track Disneyland news that the woman was scattering human ashes.
The blogs say it happens all the time at Disney's theme parks.
Disneyland denies that it's a recurring problem. Park officials say people have asked for permission to scatter the ashes of a loved one, but the answer is always no.
Park officials say they have no way of knowing that what was dumped into the pirates ride last week was actually someone's remains.
