Sacramento County Supervisor Roger Dickinson says he has
dropped the controversial initiative to raise sales tax by a quarter-cent in
order to raise funds to fight gangs.
Dickinson says that next Tuesday he will ask the
City of West Sacramento
to put a similar initiative on their November ballot. He hopes the proposed
quarter-cent sales tax increase will raise $16 million for gang fighting.
