Black Bear Captured Outside Tahoe Bakery

INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. (AP) ― A black bear with a sweet tooth has been captured outside a Lake Tahoe bakery.

Ernie Feld of Ernie's Bakery in Incline Village says the 3-year-old male bruin was caught Thursday after a trap with baited with strudel.

Nevada Department of Wildlife biologist Carl Lackey says Feld was trying to capture a bear that had earlier entered the bakery and broken into a next-door restaurant.

But Lackey says the captured bear was not the same animal responsible for the other incidents, and will be released back into the wild Saturday at Tahoe.

Lackey says a search continues for two bears that have broken into a string of Incline Village homes and caused considerable damage this year.
