A Roseville man fell to his death from a high wall at Monster Park during the game between the San Francisco 49ers and Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.
A team spokeswoman says the fan, identified as Torrey Kretschman, age 31, was sitting on a wall on the concourse level of the park when he fell about 20 feet.
Team vice president Lisa Lang says paramedics responded immediately and treated Kretschman, but he died about 30 minutes later.
Kretschman's family says he was a loyal 49ers fan and never missed a chance to attend a game.
"Big 49ers fan his whole life," said Kretschman's sister Tammy Bossman, "He was a big fan of Joe Montana. Always going to the games."
Tammy was actually at the game on Sunday with Kretschman, but had started home when she got the call about his death.
"The information that we have right now is that he was at a a ledge on the ramp and for...we have no idea how or why he had fallen from it." said Bossman.
Police say that they are treating the incident as an accident. As for the family, they are remembering the good times.
"He was the best uncle. The best brother." said Bossman, "The best friend that anybody could have."
