Swimmers Urged To Avoid Sacramento Area Lake

SACRAMENTO (AP) ― The Sacramento Municipal Utility District is urging swimmers to avoid the Rancho Seco Recreational Area lake through Labor Day.

SMUD officials say tests have found elevated levels of bacteria spread by waterfowl.

The advisory does not cover boating and fishing in the lake, which is 25 miles south of Sacramento.
