SoCal Hospital Closing Down, Files For Bankruptcy
LOS ANGELES (AP) ―
Officials say the struggling Century City Doctors Hospital is filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy protection and will shut its doors by Aug. 29.
The hospital says in a statement Friday that it has canceled all elective surgeries and will close its emergency department at noon Saturday.
During the next seven to 10 days, the hospital will start transferring patients to other facilities.
Interim CEO Pat Wolfram says administrators tried to keep the hospital open but financial circumstances prevented it.
