Make Change For World Wildlife Fund And Earth Day

We've all been hearing a lot about "change" these days, whether it's from Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama or John McCain.
The World Wildlife Fund, that dogged global rescuer of endangered species, would like change too – your change.
As a precursor event to Earth Day 2008 (April 22), they are asking wildlife lovers to participate in their
Time For Change/Earth Day program by sending in their tips and plans for curtailing global warming. They also want people to save their change (that is, their nickels, dimes and quarters) from now until Earth Day and donate it to WWF on behalf of the animals and wild habitats in trouble around the world.
The first 5,000 people to pledge to raise $50 or more can get a Time for Change mini-recycling bin. WWF also has arranged an easy way to donate the change locally by partnering with
Coinstar Centers, which operate more than 12,000 change machines nationwide. Participants can simply unload their bag of change at the nearest Coinstar collection kiosk (which you can find using their
online locator on their homepage). Those who send the receipts showing donations of $50 or more to the non-profit can receive an organic cotton T-shirt with the WWF logo.
The group also has developed a host of
downloadable tools – posters, stickers and maps –that might appeal to kids or groups wanting to collect coins for wildlife. We have to give the wildlife group credit for getting the word out now about their Earth Day programs (they also did a "change" fundraiser in 2007). This year's 38th observance of Earth Day promises to be the biggest ever, with a crush of events planned worldwide, including a rally on the mall in Washington D.C. For details see the
