Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson Gets Engaged
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) ―
Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson is getting married. Johnson recently got engaged to Michelle Rhee.
Rhee is the Chancellor of Washington DC Public Schools.
"This is in exciting time in our lives and I feel truly blessed," said Johnson in a statement released Friday morning. "Michelle is an amazing person and I could not be happier."
Rhee served on the board of Johnson's St. Hope Academy before going to Washington D.C.
The Washington Post was the first to report the engagement. Rhee apparently showed up at an education reform event in DC on Wednesday with a diamond ring on her left hand. She confirmed the engagement, but she says the two will keep a long distance relationship going.
