Johnny Depp Gives Hat To Young Fan

OSHKOSH, Wis. (AP) ― Twelve-year-old Jack Taylor got a good lesson in following through on promises.

He had just one request in April when he met movie star Johnny Depp, who was in the area filming parts for the upcoming John Dillinger movie "Public Enemies." Taylor wanted Depp's hat.

Last week Depp followed through and sent him his fedora.

After Depp made the promise, Taylor's parents tracked down his agent to make sure he'd get the hat. The agent even sent promotional gifts from Depp's "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" for Taylor's four siblings.

Depp also wrote Taylor a note telling him to enjoy the hat and other gear.

He says he's working on a return letter, with some help from his parents.

Many scenes for the movie, which is about Dillinger's crime sprees, were shot in Wisconsin.
