New Ammo In Case Against T.I.

NEW YORK (CBS) ― The U.S. Attorney's office announced Monday it plans to introduce three instances when T.I. illegally possessed guns, ammunition and a silencer, "all after having been convicted of a felony offense."

T.I., whose real name is Clifford Harris, faces federal weapons charges following an Oct. 13 arrest hours prior to the BET Hip-Hop Awards for allegedly trying to purchase unregistered machine guns. The rapper was released on bond but is under house arrest.

The first case dates back to 2001 when Harris allegedly carried a concealed 9 mm pistol though the arrest did not lead to a criminal conviction. The second arrest occurred in 2002 when he was convicted of carrying a 10 mm pistol. The third instance came when a Dec. 2004 search warrant of Harris' home reportedly yielded a firearm with a silencer, ammunition, and photographs of Harris holding firearms.
