Mills Reduced To Tears On Radio Show

"Dancing With The Stars" Contestant Talks About Being Labeled A "Gold-Digger"

NEW YORK (CBS) ― In a radio interview with Ryan Seacrest on Tuesday, Heather Mills was reduced to tears when a fan confessed that her opinion of her had changed since she joined "Dance With The Stars."

Mills, whose divorce from Beatle Paul McCartney has been constant tabloid fodder, fought tears as she explained how much the fan's comment meant to her.

"All I did was to fall in love with someone, madly, and I'm constantly being vilified in the press for it," she said through her tears. "People label me a gold-digger and if I was, I would've been a very wealthy woman when I met Paul (McCartney) and that wasn't the case at all."

Mills, who is the first "Dancing With The Stars" contestant with an artificial limb, also said she's working really hard so that she can be on the show but also be the mother that her daughter, Beatrice, needs.

"Starting in a few weeks, I will start flying back and forth to England every week to be with my daughter as she goes back to school," Mills said. "My husband and I share 50/50 custody because I've always felt the father is just as important as the mother."

Mills walked away from last night's performance with a total score of 24 from the judges, making a four-way tie for first place.
