A representative of comedian Chris Rock has acknowledged the entertainer hired celebrity private eye Anthony Pellicano to investigate a Hungarian model in a paternity case.
Rock spokesman Matt Labov confirms in today's Los Angeles Times that the comedian had Pellicano hired after Monika Zsibrita alleged in 1999 that Rock was the father of her unborn child.
The disclosure makes Rock the latest - and arguably best known - celebrity that Pellicano allegedly tried to help by intimidating courtroom foes.
A February grand jury indictment named 33-year-old Zsibrita as a victim of Pellicano's alleged wiretapping and racketeering conspiracy.
The indictment accuses Pellicano of using his connections with a Los Angeles Police Department detective to illegally run a background check on Zsibrita in July of 1999.
Pellicano has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
