Tracy Substitute Teacher Arrested For Molest
TRACY (CBS13) ―
A substitute elementary school teacher in behind bars in Tracy on charges of child molest and possession of child porn.
Tracy police arrested 39-year-old Jesse Llorente III today. He has been charged with eight counts of lewd acts on a child. Police say he victimized eight of his female students during the course of two days in late February while substitute teaching at George Kelly Elementary School on Mabel Josephine Drive.
Parents like Terri Nogales could not believe that something of this nature happened at her daughter's school.
"Surprised, very surprised. What kind of background check was done and whether it was thorough enough," says Nogales.
Superintendent, James Franco, says Llorente had been substituting in the district since 2005. Franco says every substitute teacher has to have an extensive background check, which includes clearance from the Department of Justice.
"This is unacceptable behavior and we're appreciated that its brought to our attention so promptly," Franco told CBS13.
Llorente was also charged with one count of possession of child pornography. He is being held at the San Joaquin County Jail on $750,000 bail.
