Swedish Rapper Charged With LA Murder
LOS ANGELES (AP) ―
Swedish hip-hop artist David Moses Jassy has been charged with murder for allegedly running over a 55-year-old musician who slapped his car in Hollywood.
Jassy, also known as Dave Monopoly, was first charged last week with assault, battery and leaving the scene of an accident. On Tuesday prosecutors added the murder charge and a felony count of assault with a deadly weapon -- his car.
Prosecutors say the victim, John Osnes, slapped Jassy's rented sport utility vehicle on Nov. 23 when it crept into his crosswalk. Jassy allegedly got out of his car, punched the victim in the face and kicked him in the head, then ran him over with his car as he left.
Jassy was arrested the next day and remains jailed on $1 million bail. He is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday.
