Manteca Woman Found Dead, Husband Arrested
MANTECA, Calif. (CBS13) ―
Manteca police have arrested a man they believe stabbed his wife to death this morning.
Police found Tevanie Tellez dead on a neighbor's lawn after her daughter called 911 to report that she heard her parents arguing.
Police later arrested Tevanie's husband, Jesse Tellez, 48.
Tellez's 12-year-old daughter called for help, and told police her father was drunk and fighting with her mother.
According to reports, the attack spilled out in the front of a neighboring home owned by a neighbor, who stayed inside while Jesse allegedly killed Tevanie.
"We looked over and saw two little boys standing off to the side shivering," Bill Kaiser told CBS13.
Bill Kaiser and his wife moved the youngsters away from the crime scene.
Tevanie and the children came to the neighbothood a short while ago, then Jesse turned up from living in Mexico.
Police say after the murder Jesse tried to run, but police caught him and found the knife they say he used to kill his wife.
