HIV+ Child Molester Sentenced In Butte County

OROVILLE (AP) ― A Northern California man who molested two boys and exposed them to the virus that causes AIDS has been sentenced to more than 20 years in prison.

In sentencing 42-year-old Edward Hosmun to prison, a Butte County Superior Court judge blamed him for exposing innocent and unwilling boys to HIV.

Hosmun was sentenced after pleading guilty to a number of charges including engaging in sex with an incompetent minor, a 17-year-old who is developmentally disabled.

He also pleaded guilty to providing a controlled substance to the boys.
