Clothes Swaps Become Fashionable In Down Economy
ROSEVILLE (CBS13) ―
In tough economic times, more and more women are trading clothes instead of buying new ones.
Women turned out in droves at the latest clothing swap in Roseville where they traded their used garments for others that were also used, but new to them.
Organizers are now offering a "Fashion Stimulus Package" charging less to participate. It's now only ten bucks to change your wardrobe.
"Everyone is in the same situation, everyone is saying I don't have the money to go out and buy a new pair of jeans instead I have to buy a new pair of shoes for my kids," explained volunteer Marsh Byus.
So many people turned out for the clothing swap, organizers plan on monthly events in Roseville.
