We'll begin with the case of the Life Insurance Policy. Angelina Payne lost her son in January. She was named the beneficiary of his life insurance policy with Western Southern Life. She submitted all the paperwork, but Western Southern Life was protesting the claim. Volunteer Jan took the case and says, "everybody was kind of dragging their heals and I think my intervention just helped speed up the process. I got this great thank you card from Angelina thanking me, she was thrilled." Angelina got the $10,000.00 benefits check, closing the case.

Next there's the case of the Comcast bill. William Watt's moved out of his apartment and cancelled his Comcast service, turning in all his equipment. Months later he got a notice that he was in collections for $174.71. We contacted Comcast. They researched and confirmed that the equipment was turned in. William's account was credited, closing his case.

Janice Whitfield's grandson signed up to play in the Delta Football League. They paid $200.00 for him to participate, and the young man attended all the practices. But two weeks into the season he was cut from the team, and Janice couldn't get a refund. We suggested she get a copy of the contract. When she called the league president asking for the contract, the president agreed to the $200.00 refund. Closing the case.

Finally we have the case of the well known scam. Steven Lanford got a letter saying he won a sweepstakes. But to claim his prize he needed to wire $500.00 for fees through Western Union. Volunteer Jackie got involved and called Western Union. "They agreed that it was a scam. So what I did was file a fraudulent transaction report for him, on his behalf, and I saved him from losing his $500.00. He was very happy about that." Closing the case.

That wraps up four more cases for our Call Kurtis Crew. Getting results and solving problems.
