Buy It And Try It: What Odor
FOLSOM, Calif. (CBS13) ―
The Folsom City Zoo Sanctuary has been entertaining and educating families for more than 45 years. They've got 80 animals including monkeys, tigers, bears, coyotes and mountain lions.
It stands to reason they've got a lot of odors around. "Yes, we do," said zoo supervisor Jill Lute.
I brought Jill my "What Odor," a spray that claims to be the first odor eliminator that truly works.
"What Odor" says it's pet safe and uses 41 essential oils, no perfumes or artificial fragrances, but it doesn't list the exact ingredients. To be safe, we won't test it within the cages; the zoo staff has been nice enough to remove some of the awful odors to test elsewhere.
We'll start with the red foxes and what they left behind this morning. All you do is spray, and now
"I can't really smell anything," Jill said. We let another zoo staffer, Roberta, take a whiff too.
"All I smell is the spray," she said.
The spray passes our first test.
We move on to the tigers, who like to spray a wooden post just outside their cage. The smell is quite pungent, so we spray "What Odor" on it.
"It's gone," Jill said.
Now, to the bear cage, where the black bears leave horrific smelling messes.
"It has masked the odor of the bear, it really has," she said.
But the question is, does it last? We give it a few minutes, and then I brave a smell test. It seems to do the job.
"I thought it definitely did work on our very strong odors here at the zoo," Jill said.
It comes with a money back guarantee. I paid $19.99 for two small bottles and two 16-ounce bottles and bought it online.
