Christie Wilson Murder Trial To Begin Today

SACRAMENTO (CBS 13) ― Christie Wilson's accused murderer goes on trial today nearly a year after Wilson disappeared without a trace.

54-year-old Mario Garcia is expected to testify in his own defense .

Garcia has always denied murdering Wilson. Security cameras caught Garcia and Wilson leaving Thunder Valley Casino the night she disappeared last October.

Legal analysts expect attorneys to emphasize circumstantial evidence including how Garcia failed to show up for work for days after Wilson went missing.

A 48 hours investigation recently revealed Garcia's questionable past including allegations of rape and a past girlfriend drowning of mysterious circumstances
