The Sacramento Kings have signed power forward Sean May for the upcoming season, according to team officials.
May, 25, played for three seasons for the Charlotte Bobcats after being the 13th pick in the 2005 NBA draft, averaging 8.5 points, 5 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game in 82 games. He was unable to play during the 2007-08 season due to an injury.
May lead the University of North Carolina Tar Heels to a 2005 NCAA National Championship and was named Most Outstanding Player.
"We are all excited to have him join the team," said Kings' President of Basketball Operations Geoff Petrie in a press release. "It's a great opportunity for him and us as well."
The Sacramento Kings were at the bottom of the NBA rankings last season with a 17-65 record, the worst in franchise history.
