100MPH Plus High-Speed Chase Ends In SoCal
LOS ANGELES (AP) ―
A pursuit of a reportedly stolen car has come to an abrupt end after a high-speed run through three Southern California counties.
The white Yukon SUV suddenly pulled over and slowed to a stop on Intertstate 5 on Camp Pendleton in San Diego County and a woman emerged from the driver's seat.
A KCBS-KCAL TV helicopter showed the woman being taken into custody without incident shortly after noon.
CHP Officer Vince Ramirez says the chase began in East Los Angeles at 10:40 a.m. and reached speeds up to 100 mph.
The vehicle whipped through traffic on interstates in Los Angeles and Orange counties before entering San Diego County. The SUV may have struck a patrol car at one point.
