Robbery Suspect, Officer Hit By Unmarked Cop Car

DENVER (CBS) ― A robbery and carjacking suspect and a Denver police officer were both struck by an unmarked police car.

The incident happened when the First United Bank was robbed. Witnesses from the bank followed the suspect to a nearby home where they say he committed a carjacking.

A uniformed officer, with his gun drawn, tried to pull the bank robbery suspect out of the car to arrest him but the suspect ran. The officer chased him on foot through an intersection when a blue unmarked police car with it's lights flashing drove into the scene and slammed into both the suspect and the officer.

The suspect flipped off the hood and fell on the pavement. They were both taken to the hospital for treatment. The officer's injuries were minor. The suspect has been taken into custody.
