Comedians Plan Political Shows During RNC
ST. PAUL, Minn. (CBS) ―
The Republican National Convention is inspiring quite a few comedians.
Several comedy shows will be in town when the convention comes to St. Paul, Minn. in September.
Comedian Jeff Gerbino, who has written jokes for Gov. Tim Pawlenty, will enlist his conservative buddy Jeff Wayne from California for a show hosted by "This Place is a Joke," at the Holiday Inn St. Paul East.
The pair promises a show that will discuss the differences between the left and the right in a lighthearted way.
Lizz Winstead, co-creator of Comedy Central's "The Daily Show," will bring her show called "Wake Up World" to Parkway Theater in Minneapolis. The show makes fun of TV morning shows.
And the local Brave New Workshop plans to run its show, "The Lion, the Witch and the War Hero; Or Is McCain Able?" this month through November.
