Buy It And Try It: Smoothaway
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) ―
The Smoothaway says it removes hair instantly, but avoids pain, chemicals and razor burns. Let's find out if that's true.
Melissa Mannion is a single mom who works and goes to school. She wants to know if she can ditch her razor and shaving cream after seeing an infomercial for the Smoothaway.
"I thought, c'mon, that can't really work," she said.
She wanted me to try it, but we turned the tables on her and asked her to grow her leg hair for a month.
The Smoothaway says the trick is super-fine crystals that buff the hair away. The directions say it exfoliates, too.
Melissa is eager to get the hair off her legs, so she grabs the large and small application and tries it out. Using the large one, she does three clockwise circles, then three counterclockwise circles, and repeats.
"Wow, it really is
how's this working?"
She says there's no pain at all, and her skin in softer. "I'm actually really impressed with it."
She keeps working on her leg for a few minutes, and realizes some hair is stubborn.
"I've gone over this hair 4 or 5 times, but it's not coming off," she said.
But after 20 seconds of work
"So finally, that hair is gone."
It's supposed to work in sensitive areas, too. She tries the small applicator on her arm, and says it works just as well.
The final results?
"I would absolutely recommend this product," she said.
The cost is $14.99 plus shipping and processing. I bought it from GetSmoothAway.com
