HP CEO Gets $8.6M Bonus For 2006 Performance
PALO ALTO, Calif. (AP) ―
Despite a spying scandal at Hewlett-Packard, it was a good year for the company's top executive.
In a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, H-P says it paid CEO Mark Hurd a bonus of $8.6 million in 2006.
That's on top of his salary of $1.4 million.
Hurd only briefly came under scrutiny when the company's shady surveillance tactics to try to find the source of boardroom leaks to the media became public.
Hurd has said he didn't know about the deceptive tactics.
He has not been charged in the case, but felony charges have been filed against former Chairwoman Patricia Dunn, former ethics chief Kevin Hunsaker, and three outside investigators.
