Big Rig, Fed Ex Truck Collide In Sutter County
SUTTER COUNTY (CBS13) ―
Rain-slicked roads may be to blame for a crash on Highway 99 in Sutter County where a big rig, Fed Ex and Dodge Durango collided knocking down live power lines and backing up traffic.
The crash happened just before 6:00am on northbound Highway 99 at Lincoln Road. The impact from the crash nearly sent the Fed Ex truck into a nearby building. The drivers of the truck and Durango could not immediately get out of their crashed vehicles because of the live power lines down on the road.
CHP says slick roads may be to blame. They say both the big rig and Fed Ex truck were traveling northbound on Highway 99 when for some reason the big rigs trailer began to fish-tail for some reason. That's when the big rig and Fed Ex truck collided.
Emergency crews are working to clear the accident. PG&E is working to the restore power.
