Gravel Truck Overturns On Sunrise Blocking Lanes
RANCHO CORDOVA (CBS13) ―
A big rig hauling two trailers full of gravel has crashed on major Sacramento area roadway blocking two lanes and causing a huge traffic back up.
The truck was traveling northbound on Sunrise Boulevard in Rancho Cordova when it crashed. The rear trailer separated from the truck and overturned spilling gravel all over the road. The front trailer slammed into a tree.
Only one of the three lanes is open and CHP is estimating it will be three hours before the entire roadway is clear. The CHP says traffic backed up all the way to Highway 50.
Motorists traveling in the area are being told to use Hazel Ave.
