A Lodi High School history teacher has been arrested on suspicion of statutory rape for a relationship with a student that began three years ago and has now resulted in a child.
Police arrested 35-year-old Andrew Krienke on Thursday on suspicion of statutory rape and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Lodi Police and the School Resource Officer began looking into Krienke after getting tips that a Lodi High teacher had an ongoing sexual relationship with a student.
According to police, Krienke began the relationship with the female student three years who was 17 at the time. At the time, Krienke lived in an apartment about one mile away from the high school and that's where the two had sex.
Police say both Krienke and the victim admitted to the relationship. Krienke fathered a child with the former student when she was an adult. They now live together.
Krienke has posted bail and his next court appearance is scheduled for August 20th.
