Car Slams Into Home Just Missing Sleeping Children

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) ― A car full of women slammed into a South Sacramento home this morning crashing through several walls and nearly hitting several sleeping children.

It happened on Center Parkway near Scarborough Way. Police say the four women who were inside the car got into some sort of fight at a Denny's on Mack Road.  When officers arrived to break up the fight, the women sped off, leading cops on a high-speed chase into the South Sacramento neighborhood.

At some point, the driver lost control and ended up crashing the gold Oldsmobile into the house.  Despite slamming through the front door and into the kitchen of the home, no one was hurt.

Wadiya Douglas lives in the home and says this mess could've really turned into a tragedy.

"I was in the room sleeping.  It was fortunate that it came in where it did.  It would've killed my niece and kids were sleeping right here on the floor,"  said Douglas.

The family is now leaving the severely damaged home for a hotel.  Police believe alcohol was involved. The driver has been arrested on suspicion of evading police, resisting arrest, assault and lynching. The other women have also been taken into custody.
