Teen Drowns In Waterford Main Irrigation Canal

WATERFORD, Calif. (CBS13) ― A 17-year-old male has drowned in the main irrigation canal in Waterford, Ca., according to the Stanislaus County Sheriff's Department.

The teen was said to be with family members who were congregating around the canal this afternoon when the teen dove into the canal, but did not surface.

Stanislaus County Sheriff's responded to the call at 1:40 pm, but when they arrived at the scene the teen was unresponsive.

Authorities say that this is the main canal in the Modesto Irrigation District.
