Nick Toma is the co-host of Good Day Sacramento's weekday show. He also hosts a feature called "Nick's Joints" that profiles the best restaurants and hangouts in the Sacramento, Stockton and Modesto areas.
The oldest of three siblings, Nick feels at home on the softball diamond, on the seat of a bicycle, or hiking around Lake Tahoe, but when it comes time to really relax, cooking is Nick's method of choice, especially Italian food. Nick also proudly claims to be the King of Mindless Trivia, specifically regarding "The Brady Bunch" TV show.
Whether it's outdoors or indoors, Toma is most comfortable on a news set. Toma began his career after receiving his BA in Communication from William Paterson College in New Jersey. His first paying job wasn't in front of the camera, but behind the scenes as a guest booker for a public affairs talk show at WWOR-TV in New Jersey. That job led to a stint as a feature writer and movie critic at the North New Jersey Herald and News in 1988. Nick made the jump from print to television a year later when he was hired as a general assignment reporter for a station in Watertown, New York. He then began a series of rewarding news anchor jobs in Anchorage, Alaska, Springfield, Massachusetts and most recently a morning news show in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Catch Nick mornings on Good Day Sacramento from 5-10 a.m.
