Emmy Award winning reporter Kris Pickel is the recipient of several prestigious awards in broadcast journalism including Emmy Awards in 2007 and 2008, an Associated Press Award and an Edward R. Murrow Award.
Pickel is a Sacramento native who is ecstatic her career has brought her back home to the city she loves. After graduating from U.C. Davis, Pickel's career included editing at KCRA in Sacramento followed by anchoring, reporting and producing in Grand Junction and Reno and anchoring and reporting in Tucson and Sacramento.
Kris currently anchors the weekend 5:00 and 10:00 p.m. newscasts and reports during the week.
Pickel is married to award winning videographer Carl Lemon. The couple is the proud parents of 2 boys, Clark and Bruce. Pickel also believes she should get wife of the year after agreeing to let her husband name the boys after his favorite hobby, collecting comics.
