Kelly joined the Good Day Weekend Team in August 2006, before leaving in November to have her first child. Only taking 1 month of maternity, Kelly made it back to the weekends before the years end.
Kelly got her start in broadcasting at the CBS affiliate in Salt Lake City, where she was a feature reporter and then transitioned into the station's helicopter reporter. Utah is where Kelly met her meteorologist husband, Jeff James, who also works at CBS13 in Sacramento on the morning show.
Baking, scrap booking, and interior decorating are Kelly's favorite hobbies. She loves to entertain and plan parties. Some may recognize Kelly from an episode of "Celebrity Fear Factor". She was Miss Utah at the time, but only had a short stint on the program, getting knocked off in the first round with an underwater stunt. After that, Kelly went on to the Miss USA Pageant and spent a year doing public service for her state of Utah. Today Kelly is still involved in charity efforts and works with young girls on self-confidence, speaking and interview skills.
In her spare time Kelly loves taking long walks with her husband Jeff and baby girl, Ellerey. Since moving to California they have used the northern region as an adventure zone exploring all that Sacramento and its surrounding areas have to offer.
