Jeff's career has taken him on a journey across many different locations of the Central and Western United States. Jeff arrived in Sacramento in August of 2006. He now proudly claims the role as morning and noon meteorologist for KOVR-CBS13 news. In his most recent adventure, he forecasted monsoonal storms in Tucson, AZ. Prior to the desert life, he went waist deep in the Wasatch mountain snow of Northern Utah. By far his most memorable experiences exist in Omaha, Nebraska and Minneapolis, Minnesota. These northern plain states allowed him to witness the horror of dangerous tornadoes. "Chasing those twisters was unforgettable! I distinctly remember an F2 moving perpendicular to the road I was traveling on less than 200 yards away." says Jeff.
Jeff was born and raised in Minneapolis, MN and gained an illustrious educational background. Jeff is a graduate of St. Cloud State University with a double major in Meteorology and Aviation Science. He also acquired a minor in Computer Science and was a computer programmer with the St. Paul water utility before entering broadcast. He holds the AMS and NWA seal of approval for outstanding television weather forecasting. He has been recognized for severe weather preparedness discussions and especially enjoys encouraging children into earth sciences. "I believe children need more than a few textbooks to gain an insight into science. They need props and class participation. Sometimes I often think I should have become a teacher!"
In my off-time I enjoy mountain biking, golf, and going out for a long walk with his wife, Kelly. "I am excited for the opportunity to represent such a strong news and weather team at CBS13 television."
