Kelly Chapman and Jeff James will help host the Dog-o-Ween Event benefitting the Placer County SPCA.
Halloween is going to the dogs again
as Sunrise MarketPlace and Sunrise Festival Shopping Centers co-host one of the District's most entertaining eventsDOG-O-WEEN. The event, now in its seventh year, will be held October 13 from 10am to noon in the Sunrise Festival parking lot near Rite Aid (corner of Greenback and Sunrise).
DOG-O-WEEN features dogs from small, medium and large categories vying for "Barking Lot" rights as well as Division and Best of Show prizes. The $10 entry fee/donation will benefit Placer SPCA, which will also be on site with mobile adoption services. Registration and mini-dog expo begin at 9am, with the competition beginning at 10am. The contest is open to the first 100 dogs in costume. Representatives from various dog services ranging from grooming, clothing, food, pet treats, behaviorist and pet sitting services will be on hand. Dr Jyl's Mobile Vet Service and VARK (Veterinary After Rescue Kare), raising awareness and funding for rescue animal medical supplies are also scheduled to be in attendance. Petsmart will hand out dog food samples and each registered canine will receive a "doggy bag" with coupons and additional items.
Best of Show prize includes a Petsmart gift card, cash and trophy. Division and place winners will be the recipient of gift cards and additional surprises.
